About Primary Care Insight

Primary Care Insight is a collaboration between three organizations:

The Center for Excellence in Primary Care at the University of California, San Francisco was created in 2005 to respond to the challenges facing primary care in the United States. The mission of the Center is to catalyze the transformation of primary care at the regional, national, and international level. Under the leadership of Thomas Bodenheimer, MD and Kevin Grumbach, MD, CEPC has been an effective change agent, aiming to advocate for policy changes to produce greater investment in primary care, transforming primary care at the regional level, and creating a model for nationwide reform.

The John D. Stoeckle Center for Primary Care Innovation at Masschusetts General Hospital is devoted to revitalizing and redesigning the delivery of primary care in order to provide the highest level of clinical excellence, provide an extraordinary experience of care for patients and their families, and create an exciting and fulfilling professional life for current and future primary care practitioners. As a reliable and trustworthy source of knowledge and leadership, the Stoeckle Center partners with people across the country to improve primary care through collaborative work in research, innovation, education, and policy reform.

Primary Care Progress (PCP) is a network of primary healthcare clinicians, trainees, and students engaged in their local primary healthcare communities to promote primary care and transform care delivery and training. PCP initiates efforts in local communities to promote the importance of primary care and raise awareness about new models of care, engage trainees in efforts to redesign care delivery, and support the creation of local primary care curricular reform collaboratives. The PCP network is designed to connect trainees, clinicians, and educators with one another through local activities, while creating a national community of like-minded primary care advocates who energize and inspire one another.
